With the opportunity and courage to get on stage at a Broken Hill Country Music Muster in 1990 Chrissie hasn't looked back since.
She teamed up with Nev and Jodie Molloy as “Country Lace” and performed at local hotels with Jodie and herself on guitar/vocals and Nev Molloy on lead guitar.
Chrissie Murphy’s potential was quickly recognised and she was sought after with many more performances and gigs booked,
eventually “The Chrissie Murphy Band" was formed.
Chrissie and her band performed in South Australia and around the Australian outback,
including picnic races, Gymkhana's country music festivals and clubs and pubs throughout South Australia, Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

Her passion and greatest achievements to date are her performances for charity including a
flood relief concert in Broken Hill for those affected by the 2000 floods as well as travelling to
isolated communities around the Australian outback performing with band
"Highway 32".

Chrissie’s influences and inspiration come from artists such as Martina McBride, Patsy Cline, Wynonna Judd and Slim Dusty.

Chrissie has had the honour of working with many artists such as Slim Dusty, Graeme Hugo and Ironbark, Greg Champion,
Jane Saunders, Bill Chambers, Adam Harvey, Audrey Aulde, Grant Luhrs, Barry Thornton,
Nev Molloy, Warwick Capper, Jacko Jackson, Wildcard, Matt Manning, Jim Hermel,
Col Thomson, Shayne Parle, Tracy Coster, The Costa Bros, James Blundell and her dear friend Corinna Cordwell.

Dusty smiles, real country warmth and hospitality is always a pleasure to meet at the end of hours of travelling outback roads.
When Chrissie Murphy & Highway 32 are in full swing the atmosphere is electric,
with years of experience and a repertoire of songs from ballads to country rock,
they possess outstanding qualities as a dance and/or party band and certainly know how to entertain.
